ABOUT

The Friends of the El Camino are working to establish a permanently marked footpath through Fayette and Lavaca County, Texas for purposes existential discovery, historical appreciation, religious reflection, and self-actualization. This concept is inspired by Brazil's Caminho da Fe and Spain's Camino de Santiago

This path winds a circuitous route of 225 miles through the counties Fayette and Lavaca. The route is anchored around 20 historic Catholic churches. Additionally you will encounter numerous Protestant churches, historical markers, the eight principle towns of the two counties, small communities, and rural country schools.  This route starts and ends at St. John The Baptist Catholic church in Koerth, TX. Whether you walk, bike, motorcycle, or drive a car we would love for you to experience the remoteness and solitude of this route, while touring the area and the Churches.
